Pina Bausch - the great master of the arts

She turned dance into theater and thus created a new art form. She threw clichés overboard, redefined standards and was quite unimpressed by the initial audience protests. The ensemble not only danced, but also spoke, sang, laughed and cried on stage. Wuppertal thus started a revolution that emancipated dance worldwide.

 

In 2009, the daughter of a married couple of restaurateurs from Solingen died unexpectedly. She left behind an incomparable life's work, for which she received numerous awards. Today, her compositions are performed by dance ensembles all over the world. At the Tanztheater Pina Bausch, you can experience the art of dance up close, which began in Wuppertal and spread around the globe.

 

Good to know: Tickets for the dance theater are available on site or by telephone. The box office is always open one hour before the performance begins.
